Friday Night Flix is back in downtown Rockford with a summer full of throwback movie fun! Friday Night Flix is a summer event series held in Davis Park (320 S. Wyman Street) and sponsored by several Rockford area businesses and organizations including ASM Rockford. This year, Stateline Kids is proud to be a sponsor too! Friday Night Flix gives families three chances to experience an outdoor movie for free each summer! Movies are held on the last Friday of May, June, and July.

Friday Night Flix offers free admission as well as pre-movie activities before the show including face painting, balloon twisting, character meet and greets, games, and more. The gates open at 6:30 pm and the movie starts at dusk (typically around 9 pm). Some activities do have an additional cost.

This year, parents get a chance to show their kids some classic movies from their childhood including Aladdin (1992), Shrek (2001), and Toy Story (1995). Aladdin and Toy Story are rated G and Shrek is rated PG.

Friday Night Flix 2024 Schedule:

May 31st: Aladdin

June 28th: Shrek

July 26th: Toy Story

Here are some helpful tips if you plan to go!

  • Bring your own chairs and blankets. There are a limited amount of picnic tables available in the park so it’s a good idea to bring your own folding chairs and blankets.
  • Bring cash or card for food trucks. There are numerous food trucks on site with food available for purchase including dessert options.
  • Arrive early to play games and do activities. There are fun activities for kids before the show like games, face painting, photo booths, character meet and greets, and more.
  • Bring bug spray because the park is close to the river!
  • Leave your furry friends at home. Pets are not allowed, but service animals are.

We hope to see you at Friday Night Flix this summer!
