Timber Ridge Lodge in Lake Geneva recently underwent some fantastic renovations to their indoor waterpark, Moose Mountain Falls, making it the perfect vacation destination for families with young kids. We got a chance to visit and check out the improvements this month.

**Our hotel stay was complimentary, but our opinions are our own.**

The last time we visited Timber Ridge Lodge was January 2023 when we also went skiing at The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva. During our stay this time, we spent a day enjoying the waterpark. Moose Mountain Falls, the indoor waterpark located in Timber Ridge Lodge, recently upgraded their offerings for young kids. They added a multi-level play structure with a large dump bucket, spray features, and four new slides. These features are specifically geared toward kids ages 6 and under. The renovation was completed in November 2023.

We were really impressed by the brand-new look of the space. Immediately upon entering, we noticed that the giant tree that was previously in the center of the waterpark was now gone. Removing the tree gave the space a much more open feel and allowed for clear visibility throughout the waterpark.

The renovated space for little ones is the first thing you see when you enter the waterpark. The new equipment is cute and colorful and the entire area is within a zero-depth pool with room for kids to sit and splash. This space is perfect for babies through preschoolers and would be great for a first-time waterpark experience.

Since my kids are a bit older, we spent most of our time enjoying the other waterpark features including the two tube slides, activity pool with rope climb and basketball, and Canyon River – the lazy river. The lazy river is a family favorite! It winds around the entire waterpark and moves at a decent pace. Both waterslides are for kids 48 inches or taller to ride alone though the tube slide can be ridden with an adult if your child is under 48 inches tall. Both of my kids (9 and 6) loved the tube slide and my daring six year old enjoyed the body slide as well. Adults will also enjoy both water slides which are fast and fun.

One of our favorite features of the waterpark is the indoor/outdoor hot tub. This hot tub has a section inside the waterpark as well as an area outside of the water park. It’s particularly fun to sit outdoors when it’s cold – last time we got to enjoy the hot tub while it was snowing!

If you’d like a central location to store your things, you can rent a cabana for the day. The waterpark has several to choose from. Each has two or more chairs and a small table.

Though we went on a Saturday, and there were birthday parties happening during our visit, the waterpark was not too crowded and we didn’t have to wait long for a tube for the lazy river or slides. The waterpark was staffed with numerous lifeguards who did a great job keeping an eye on everyone.

While staying at Timber Ridge Lodge, you can grab a snack or drink at The Hungry Moose located in the waterpark or you can eat in the restaurant, recently rebranded as Moose & Maple, on the main level. We had breakfast at Moose & Maple before we left and it was great! Some fun menu items include S’mores pancakes and breakfast burritos.

If you want to save money on food, you can bring your own groceries and cook in the room. Every room in Timber Ridge Lodge has a kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove top burners, dishwasher and sink. There are all the essentials you need to make a meal as well including pans, plates, and utensils.

Besides the waterpark, Timber Ridge Lodge has a great arcade with many hands-on games for all ages, mini bowling, and family-friendly programming during the day including crafts and games that are either free or a small fee to participate.

We’d highly recommend Timber Ridge Lodge for families with children ranging in age from babies through young teens. It’s a much less overwhelming experience than going to one of the bigger waterparks in the Wisconsin Dells. Have you been to Timber Ridge Lodge before?
