The Stateline goes all out for Easter every year! This year, Easter is later happening on April 5th. There are always so many Easter Egg Hunts happening in the Stateline. Some are free, some are low-cost, and all will be a hopping good time! Make plans to attend some of these Stateline egg hunts and Easter events this year.
The Stateline has some fantastic museums and gardens! If you want to visit these gems with your kids, you don’t have to break the bank. Here’s a list of 2023’s free or donation days for attractions in the Rockford area. Donation days mean that you can pay whatever amount you’re comfortable paying for admission.
Nature has many benefits both for kids and adults! If you want to get outside more this year, check out 1000 Hours Outside.
It can get mighty cold in the Stateline area during the winter and kids need a place to get their energy out when it’s too cold to play outside! Thankfully, there are several indoor play places in the greater Rockford area where you can take your kids to burn off some energy and quite a few fast food restaurants where kids can have lunch and play. We’ve put together a list of all of the indoor play places and restaurant play areas in the Stateline.
Have you heard of kindness or art rocks? They are rocks that people paint with inspirational messages or artistic designs then hide around town for others to find. If you find one, you can keep it and replace it with a rock you’ve painted or rehide it. Searching for rocks is a fun, free activity you can do with your kids on a nice day!
There are so many places to go outside to exercise and get fresh air in the Stateline area. All of these parks, paths, and trails are free to use.
Nothing tastes better than fresh produce in the spring and summertime! Farmers markets are fun for the whole family and the Rockford area has some of the best ones around.
Nothing says summer like a drive-in movie theater. We’re lucky to have five drive-in theaters within an hour’s drive of Rockford, Illinois!
