Summer is just around the corner and Stateline Kids has put together everything you need to know about summer camps in Winnebago, Boone, and Rock counties! In this guide, you’ll find local camp information and deals to help you decide where your kid should go to camp this summer!

This summer more camps are opening up! Many will have limited capacity, and new rules in place to keep your kids safe. Register early if you want to send your kids to camp this year!

This guide has full day, week-long, multi-day and one-time classes, camps, events and even virtual camps.  These camps are held throughout Rockford, Beloit, Belvidere, Machesney Park, Rockton, Roscoe, and more. The camps are categorized by topic so you can jump to an area that interests you or scroll through and check out all the Stateline has to offer your kids this summer!

As soon as we have information from Rock Valley College Whiz Kids, Belvidere Park District, and other camps that have not yet finalized their 2021 summer camp plans, we will update this guide.

Discovery Center Summer Camps

Excite your child about science with summer camps at Discovery Center! Discovery Center has a wide variety of in-person half or full-day summer camps for children ages 7 -12 and mini-camps for children ages 3-6 to spark curiosity and engage naturally scientific minds in exciting and interactive ways! Campers will explore the wonders of nature, go on hikes, listen to stories, sing songs, and do crafts. Camp Ducktails focus on getting the youngest explorers into nature. Camp Redwing includes field trips, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts. Camp Redtail is an adventure-based four-day camping trip that introduces minimum impact camping and outdoor nature skills.

Discovery Center Summer Camps

Excite your child about science with summer camps at Discovery Center! Discovery Center has a wide variety of in-person half or full-day summer camps for children ages 7 -12 and mini-camps for children ages 3-6 to spark curiosity and engage naturally scientific minds in exciting and interactive ways! For children ages 7 to 12, Discovery Center has 12 different STEM camps in June through August covering topics such as electricity, energy, aquatic animals, creepy crawly animals, forensics, movie magic, star voyagers and space explorers. For children ages 3-6, Discovery Center has lined up six mini camps in June through August exploring snakes, frogs and turtles, sand, superheroes, gardening, sea creatures, and engineering. Choose from 90-minute three-day camp or two-hour Saturday camps.
