At the YMCA of Rock River Valley, we are hosting the Y’s national Healthy Kids Day® on April 19 & 20 and invite your family to join! These free, annual events feature a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy start to the summer season.
Our first event will take place on Friday, April 19 at our Northeast Family YMCA from 6-8pm. Collegiate athletes from Rockford University will be joining our experienced YMCA staff to lead youth and families through a mini sports clinics, including basketball, baseball, soccer, and football. Space is limited, so registration is required at rockriverymca.org/events/
On Saturday, April 20, we invite families to explore the beautiful hiking trails and woodlands of the Camp Winnebago YMCA from 9am-12pm. Each family will be entered to win a special prize! Registration is not required for this open camp event.
In celebration of this annual kick-off to summer, we are sharing a list of five activities that we encourage you to introduce to your kids. The goal is to have them try something new by promoting a variety of opportunities to get involved in active play – hopefully, this will inspire a lifetime love of physical and mental activity! Share these activities with your children and inspire them to “find their fun” by discovering an activity that they love!
