Do you find that there’s just no time to exercise? Between running kids to activities, tending to little ones, and working a 9-5, there just never seems to be enough time to prioritize your fitness!

As moms, we’re always taking care of everyone else and often put ourselves at the bottom of the list. When we’re crunched for time, one of the first things to go is self-care! Many of us can’t find the time to get to the gym or to keep up a regular exercise routine.

That’s where MOM-Minutes comes in! MOM-Minutes are workouts designed so you can fit exercise into your existing routine. These flexible workouts can be slotted in around school drop-off and pick-up, meetings in the office, taking the kids to extracurriculars, doing housework, and anything else that pops up during your busy day. MOM-Minutes is here to show moms (and dads) that they can get in a daily training session whether it takes 30, 45, or 60 minutes to complete. In fact, you can even combine the things you’d normally do with exercise moves to burn calories and get stronger without adding another thing to your ‘to-do’ list. The best part is, you’ll still see and feel the benefits of exercising.

MOM-Minutes is the creation of Erin Schirack and Wes Showalter. Erin is a Chicago ‘burbs mom of twins, a wife, fitness professional, and business owner. After her daughters were born, her fitness routine suffered. She gained weight, had no energy, and felt anxious and depressed. She realized that she needed to make a change to take better care of herself. She hired an online personal trainer to help her get started then developed her own exercise routine and started finding ways to sneak fitness into her daily routine. She came up with the idea of MOM-Minutes to help moms regain a sense of themselves. She worked with Wes, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, to create a program that could work within anyone’s busy life.

“You might not have 30 minutes, but you have 3 MOM-Minutes 10 times throughout the day, and getting it done is better than perfect.”

MOM-Minutes helps you break away from the all-or-nothing thinking that if you don’t have a solid 30-60 minutes to work out in one block then you might as well not even bother. Erin encourages moms to be consistent and move more throughout their day.

“Whether it’s as simple as going for a walk and setting a goal for myself- I’m going to walk to that stop sign- so I didn’t stop short or sneaking in some pushups while I do the laundry, I even do some jump squats while I’m waiting for the water for the mac n’ cheese to boil. I feel like, if there is any time that I can be doing something else, I should at least try and make the most use of my time.”

Erin’s goal is to make MOM-Minutes a staple in people’s lives. She believes the benefits of exercise can literally change so much in a person’s life – their mood, health, weight, strength, and mobility.

“I want MOM-Minutes to be the go-to program that reminds people that you CAN workout and you do have time. It may look different than what you’re used to seeing but, baby steps lead to big changes and we should all have access to tools that can help get us closer to a better version of ourselves. MOM-Minutes is about shifting the paradigm of what people think a workout should look like and empowering people to take advantage of the minutes they have each day.”

The MOM-Minutes program consists of three total body workouts per week that build strength and improve mobility. Each month, you’ll receive a new plan that builds on the results and progress you made in the last four weeks. You’ll also have access to a video library with real-life moms performing the exercises so you can familiarize yourself with the moves. Here’s an example of what a day of the monthly program looks like.

You will also get access to a Facebook group for MOM-Minutes participants and can be paired up with an accountability buddy to give you someone to check in with.
