If you want to take the kids skiing, you’ll need to travel a little bit outside of the Stateline to do so! There are several ski resorts and ski hills less than two hours from Rockford, Illinois that you can visit this winter. Many of these resorts have skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing available. It’s best to make a reservation before going. The resorts are listed in order of distance from Rockford, Illinois.
There are so many places to go outside to exercise and get fresh air in the Stateline area. All of these parks, paths, and trails are free to use.
Kids on Water is a two-hour paddling event for parents and kids on Pierce Lake in Rock Cut State Park. Kids as young as 5 can paddle if they can follow directions.
