If you’re a mom in the Rockford area, it can be hard to get out and meet people. Thankfully, there are several moms groups, playgroups, and support groups where you can connect with other women going through the same joys and difficulties that you are.

Here is a list of playgroups, moms clubs, and support groups in the area that meet both in-person and online.

In-Person Moms Groups and Playgroups

In-person moms groups and playgroups allow you to meet fellow moms and socialize your kids in public or at members’ homes. These groups are a good way to meet moms who are also figuring out motherhood one day at a time.

Playgroups in Rockford

These playgroups offer a chance to interact with other moms while your children play. There are yearly costs associated with these playgroups that range from $20-25 per year.

MOMS Club of Rockford, Illinois
MOMS Club of Rockford is a local chapter of International MOMS Club and a 501c3 non-profit organization. This MOMS Club chapter has been active in the Greater Rockford area since 2003 and welcomes members from all of the following areas: Rockford, Belvidere, Caledonia, Machesney Park, Loves Park, Poplar Grove, Cherry Valley, Rockton, Byron, Roscoe, South Beloit and Winnebago. MOMS stands for Moms Offering Moms Support and that is a primary purpose of MOMS Clubs. This group offers a variety of fun activities for part-time and full-time “stay at home moms” along with their children, such as baby play group, kids book club, art club, moms night out, field trips, and more. Our Tribe of Rockford
This is a social group that welcomes moms, dads, grandparents, and all caregivers of children. They offer playdates, parent’s nights out, field trips, and more.

MOMS Club of Rock County
The club is part of an international organization for part-time and full-time stay at home moms. They offer playdates, mom’s night out, field trips and more. This group includes moms living in Beloit, Janesville and other cities in Rock County.

Ogle County Mom’s Group
This group is for moms in Ogle County. They offer playdates, mom’s night out and more.

SheHive815
Not just for moms, this group is for all women in the 815. They host get togethers, plan events, and do give aways with local businesses. They have a busy calendar with many different events each month for those looking to branch out and make more friends. You can check out their Facebook page here.


Moms Groups in Rockford

Moms groups offer a chance to interact with other moms while your children are supervised by provided childcare. Costs vary for each group.

MomSTRONG Rockford
MomSTRONG is a ministry for all greater Rockford area moms with children birth through elementary school age. They meet the third Wednesday of every month at Central Christian Church in Rockford from 6 pm – 8 pm. This group is FREE to attend and offers free childcare.

MMORE (Moms of Multiples of the Rockford Expanse)
This group is specifically for moms of multiples (twins, triplets, etc.). They meet once per month for a night out at a restaurant and have family-friendly events throughout the year.

Mom2Mom
Maywood Evangelical Free Church
3621 Samuelson Rd., Rockford, IL
1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 9 – 11 am during the school year

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
MOPS is an international organization created to help moms connect with other moms face to face while their children are safe and making friends. MOPS starts at $31.95 per year, but may have additional costs if childcare is included.

Rockford Crunchy Ladies
Rockford Crunchy Ladies is a non-profit support group for moms (and women of all ages) who are looking to live a cleaner lifestyle. They offer support in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and child-rearing. They also share about cycle tracking, trying to conceive, and preventing pregnancy. They have monthly meet-ups, free classes, and events available to their community.


Breastfeeding Moms Groups in Rockford

If you’re a new mom who is breastfeeding and wants some support and encouragement, consider joining one of these local breastfeeding groups. Moms don’t need to register and groups are free to attend.

Swedish American Breastfeeding Support Group 
This group has been canceled until further notice, but you can get breastfeeding support by calling the lactation office at 779-696-4890.

SSMHealth Breastfeeding Support Group
Classes have been canceled to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

La Leche League of Wisconsin
Join their Facebook group for events in Rock County.

MOBB (Mothers of Beautiful Babies)
This group is for both breastfeeding and formula feeding moms
OSF Saint Anthony Playroom

Mom and Baby Fitness Groups and Classes in Rockford
