Summer is just around the corner, and being a part of a summer camp is more than just a break
from school—it’s an opportunity for kids to explore, grow, and experience the magic of childhood
in a safe, nurturing environment. YMCA Camp Winnebago and our Adventure Camps at four of
our branches offer children an enriching summer full of exciting activities, new friendships, and
the chance to develop essential life skills. If you’re looking for a camp that combines fun with
personal development, YMCA Camps are the perfect choice.

Campers are dropped off, and the adventure begins! They are greeted by smiling
counselors like Nate Gnat, Ahna Anaconda, Eli Earthworm, and Ali Gator. The energy is
contagious, and from the moment they arrive, they are immersed in a world of adventure,
exploration, and friendship.

Campers start each morning with an exciting gathering at the Amphitheater for songs, dance
parties, and special celebrations. It’s the perfect way to build camaraderie, get excited about the
day ahead, and kick off a day full of adventures.

Then, campers break into groups for their regularly scheduled activities, such as archery,
canoeing, black hole slide, sand pit games, and more! (activities vary by location) These
activities keep kids active and encourage teamwork and personal growth. Additional activities
like climbing the high ropes course, crate stacking, or enjoying fun-filled water days allow
campers to take on challenges that help them realize their full potential. At Camp Winnebago,
there’s also the chance to paddle across the Canoe Pond and explore the new Hammock
Village
, and let’s not forget the Pines, where campers enjoy exploring the great outdoors.

There’s always something mysterious to discover, like the legend behind why we walk backward
over the bridge or the fascinating lore of the bubbles in the artesian well. These unique stories
are part of what makes YMCA Camp Winnebago so special. But YMCA Camps are about more
than just fun—they’re a space where children can learn life skills like leadership and
problem-solving, and make life-long connections that extend well beyond the summer.

As parents, you get to join in on the fun with Family Nights, held every Thursday. Families are
invited to camp for a delicious dinner, followed by a performance where campers showcase the
skills, skits, and fun they’ve experienced throughout the week. It’s a chance for families to
witness the growth and joy their children have encountered during their time at camp.

There is so much to explore at Camp Winnebago – each day offers something new: a thrilling
adventure, a new friendship, or a personal triumph. If you’re ready to embark on an
unforgettable summer full of adventure, growth, and fun, YMCA Camp Winnebago and our
Adventure Camps are waiting to welcome you – register today!
