
Rockford Day is a celebration of our city and all things Rockford. In normal years, this includes a bunch of fun outdoor and indoor events at local businesses and organizations. This year, things are a bit different due to COVID19, but there are still opportunities to have fun with your family and show your love for Rockford.
Here are some options for family fun on Rockford Day 2020!
Start the morning off with the Rockford Fire 911 Virtual 3K Family Run / Walk. All participants get a race bib and medal. Cost is $15 per person. You can sign up here and have until August 23rd to complete the race.

Enjoy a peaceful morning bird strolling at Severson Dells at 8:15 am. You can sign up for the walk here. This event is FREE!
Pick some seeds at Atwood Nature Center at 9 am. Bring your own bag and sign up here! This event is FREE!

See the Birds of Prey exhibit and watch a live feeding at 1 pm at the Atwood Nature Center. The center is FREE to visit from 10 am – 2 pm.

Get the whole family in matching 815 t-shirts from Rockford Art Deli for $18.15 each. They have both styles available in kids’ sizes too!
Be sure to stop by RAD where they will have:

Attend a writing workshop for young writers on the lawn of Rockford Public Library Montague branch at 10 am. Writers will get a composition notebook to write and illustrate their personal stories of how they are getting through the pandemic. Sign up for How I Thrive in the 815 here. This event is FREE!

Stay for the [usual] Suspects Theater Company performing on the lawn at noon. They will be performing funny skits and Karla Clark will be reading “You Be Mommy.”

Take your family to see A League of Their Own on an outdoor screen at Don Carter Lanes. Cost is $10 per car. You can get your tickets here.
