This summer will look differently than summers before. We aren’t yet sure whether we’ll be able to experience the same summer fun that we look forward to all year. As information is released about events, organizations and businesses opening, closing or rescheduling, we will update this page.

Rockford Area Openings for Summer 2020

Rock Cut State Park is open for fishing, hiking, biking. Camping opens up May 29th. Reserve a campsite here.

DairyHaus is open for online ordering and pick-up. Instructions for how to get your ice cream fix here. These other ice cream places are open too.


Rockford Area Cancellations and Closings for Summer 2020

Rockford’s Memorial Day parade is canceled. 

ByronFest is canceled. 

Pec Thing is canceled. 

Old Settler’s Days festival and 5K run are canceled. 

All Girl Scout camps are canceled for Summer 2020.

Rockford’s Fourth of July parade and all festivities including fireworks are canceled. 

Village of Winnebago’s fireworks are canceled. 

Festa Italiana is canceled.

William Grady Pool will not open in 2020.

Music in the Gardens at Anderson Gardens is canceled.

Rockford Raptors 2020 season is canceled.

Pasqua Mercato is canceled.

Ogle County Fair is canceled.

Alpine Pool, Harkins Aquatic Center and Sand Park Pool are closed for the summer.

Rockport Pool and Palmer Wading Pool in Janesville are closed for the summer.

Music in the Park concert series at Sinnissippi Park is canceled.

Live at Levings is canceled.

Canceled Rockford Area Summer Camps

Rockford Arts Area Council Camp is canceled for the 2020 year.

Burpee in-person camps are canceled.

Rock River Valley YMCA has stopped taking applicants and is paused until July 3.

Big Hill Adventure Camp (City of Beloit & Welty) and Welty End of Summer Camp is canceled.

Dolphin Swim Club booster camps are canceled.

Meyer’s K9 camp is canceled.


Nearby Attractions Closings for Summer 2020

The Wisconsin State Fair is canceled.

Tommy Bartlett Water Show in Wisconsin Dells canceled their Summer 2020 season.

Great Wolf Lodge is closed through June 15th.


Rockford Area Rescheduling and Changes for Summer 2020

Rockford’s Fourth of July fireworks have been altered to a shorter show (20 minutes) with all shells shot at the 700′-800′ height so they can be seen from great distances. The Rockford Fourth of July committee needs $25K to run this show, if you’d like to donate to the Fourth of July firework fund, click here.

Rockford City Market will not have live music, activities, or seating. You will not be able to eat or drink there. The market will be an “in and out” market selling food to take home. You will need to wear a face mask to attend. These rules are in force until at least June 1st.
