The Fourth of July is a time for grilling out, seeing fireworks and celebrating our nation’s independence! If you’d like to catch a fireworks show in the Stateline, you have a lot of options! There are small town events and big city-wide celebrations. Check out our list of the 2019 Fourth of July fireworks shows in the Rockford area and have a safe and happy 4th of July!

June 30

Heritage Days Fireworks at Boone County Fairgrounds
8791 IL-76, Belvidere, IL

When: 9 pm

Cost: Free

Heritage Days includes a carnival, Bingo, activities at local stores, Paint on State, and fireworks.

Rockford Illinois Fireworks show

July 3rd

Fireworks at Beloit Snappers Game at Pohlman Field
2301 Skyline Dr., Beloit, WI

When: Game starts at 6:30 pm, fireworks follow game

Cost: Tickets start at $9.50

Davis Junction Fireworks and Movies in the Park at Community Park
101 Lincoln Ave., Davis Junction, IL

When: Fireworks start at dusk, movie starts after fireworks end

Cost: Free

Davis Junction’s Fireworks and Movie in the Park features fireworks and the movie, A Dog’s Way Home. Bring your own chair or blanket. There will be a concession stand with items available for purchase.

Rockford Speedway Fireworks at Rockford Speedway
9572 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL

When: 7 pm – 10 pm

Cost: Tickets start at $15 for adults, $8 for kids 6-11 and free for kids 5 and under

Rockford Speedway offers car racing and a fireworks show at dusk. You can see this fireworks show from various locations around the Speedway including Wentland Park.

July 4th

Skyconcert at Davis Park
320 S Wyman St, Rockford, IL

When: 4 pm – 9:15 pm
Gate opens at 4 pm and closes at 9:15 pm

Cost: $5 per person, kids 5 and under are free

These fireworks are viewable from many places in the Rockford area, but the best viewing is in Davis Park. There will be a free kids area with bounce house and games, food and drink, and live entertainment happening in the park. Food vendors include Kona Ice, You Bacon Me Crazy, Beer Tent and Pepsi Tent.

An Edgewater 4th of July at Oxford Park
2420 Oxford, Rockford, IL

When: 6 pm – 10:30 pm

Cost: Free

Come out for a celebration of Fourth of July and watch the Rockford Country Club shoot off fireworks. Kids can decorate their bikes and ride in a kid’s bike parade at 6:30 pm. All participants will receive a goodie bag.

Beloit Fourth of July Fireworks at Riverside Park
1160 Riverside Dr., Beloit, WI

When: 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Cost: Free

Listen to the Pops on the Rock concert presented by the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 pm. A 20-25 minute firework show begins at dusk. There is also a Fourth of July bike parade from 9 am – 10:30 am.  Pre-registration is required and limited up to 50 kids between ages 3 to 12. Call 608-364-2890 to register.

Byron Dragway Fireworks
7827 River Rd., Byron, IL

When: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Cost: By donation

There will be a fireworks show at dusk at the Byron Dragway. Gates open around 6 pm.

Cherry Valley Fireworks at Baumann Park
218 S. Walnut St., Cherry Valley, IL

When: Dusk

Cost: Free

Cherry Valley has a Fourth of July celebration that includes a parade at Village Hall at 1 pm. Kids can decorate bikes or anything with wheels and arrive at Village Hall at 12:45 pm to line up. All participants will receive a prize. Fireworks start at dusk at Baumann Park.

Durand Fireworks at Durand High School
200 W. South St., Durand, IL

When: Dusk

Cost: Free

Durand has a UMC Fun Fair happening from July 3-4 which includes bean bag tournament, BBQ, street dance, parades and more. Fireworks start at dusk.

Independence Day on the Rock at Traxler Park
600 N. Main St., Janesville, WI

When: 3 pm – 10:00 pm

Cost: Free

Janesville’s Firework festival includes live music, children’s games, inflatables, and a Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show at 7 pm followed by fireworks at dusk (approximately 9:20 pm).

Rochelle’s Independence Day Celebration
10th Avenue and 20th St., Rochelle, IL

When: 8 pm

Cost: Free

Rochelle’s fireworks begin at dusk with music from the Municipal Band at 8 pm.


July 6

Amboy Fireworks Family Event 2019 in Downtown Amboy
227 E Main St, Amboy, IL

When: 4 pm – 12 am

Cost: Free

There will be carnival games, bouncy house, rock wall, face painting, fire truck rides, live music and fireworks at dusk.

Light the Night Freedom Fest at Stephenson County Fairgrounds

When: 11 am – 10:30 pm

Kirkland Fourth of July Celebration at Franklin Township Park
201 3rd St., Kirkland, IL

When: 10 am  – 10 pm

Cost: Free

Kirkland’s Fourth of July celebration is a four day event from July 3 – 6th. There will be live music including Rodney Atkins on Friday, a tractor show, water fights, parade and fireworks. Fireworks will take place at dusk on July 6th and are the largest show in Northern Illinois.
