Burpee Museum is home to the world’s most complete and best-preserved juvenile T. Rex. Her name is Jane! It’s awesome to have a piece of history right here in Rockford. Burpee also has a variety of natural history exhibits including animals, first people, and Sprouts, a children’s room full of interactive exhibits. Burpee is open daily and holds special events and donation days throughout the year.
There are so many places to go outside to exercise and get fresh air in the Stateline area. All of these parks, paths, and trails are free to use.
Nature at the Confluence in South Beloit, Illinois is a little slice of nature in an urban area. The property is called Nature at the Confluence because it’s where the Rock River, Turtle Creek and Kelly Creek meet.
West Rock Wake Board Park is a local gem located in Levings Park in Rockford. They are here to give kids and adults a place to learn how to wakeboard and practice the sport!

We LOVE our local libraries! They are wonderful places to borrow books, movies, games, and more. They also offer educational opportunities and fun experiences for kids and adults throughout the year. One of our favorite programs is the summer reading program! Each Stateline area library offers their own summer reading program with different prizes and rules.
Nothing says summer like a drive-in movie theater. We’re lucky to have five drive-in theaters within an hour’s drive of Rockford, Illinois!
