Want to get scared silly? Head to one of these super-scary Rockford area Haunted Houses this October. These haunted houses may be too scary for kids under 13 years old. Use your discretion!

Fear Fest
6512 Manchester Rd., South Beloit, IL

Cost: $15 per person for haunted barn
$15 per person for haunted hayride
$15 per person for funhouse

Deals: Triple pass $40 per person gets you into all three haunts

Open: October 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 and November 1-3

Hours: Friday and Saturday 7 – 11 pm
Sunday 7 – 10 pm

Fear Fest 2024 boasts that it’s the largest and best haunted attraction with three haunts in one location. There is a haunted barn, hayride, and funhouse. You can choose to do any of the three activities for $15 each or all three for $40.


Hoppers Haunted House
11576 N IL Rt. 2, Rockford, IL

Cost: $20 per person cash only!

Open: Opening day on September 29

Hours: Check the Facebook page for days open

Hoppers Haunted House offers heart-stopping horror one after the other, where creatures lurk behind you in total darkness, and a realistic graveyard with shadows that will make you cringe!


Karnival of Karnage
Boone County Fairgrounds, 8791 Illinois 76, Belvidere, IL

Cost: $20 per person / speedpass $30 per person / $40 to get in immediately – Cash only!

Open: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October

Hours: Fridays and Saturdays 7 pm – 12 am 
Sundays 7 – 10 pm

Karnival of Karnage is a huge haunted house at the Boone County Scaregrounds with everything indoors including the waiting area.


Forest of Freaks
5946 S. US Highway 51, Janesville, WI

Cost: $20 general admission
$30 speed entry (2x regular speed)

$6 shoot a freak (shoot a paintball gun at a person)

Cash only!

Open: October 4, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, 31 and November 1 and 2

Hours: 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm

Forest of Freaks is an outdoor haunted house, Attractions include shoot a freak, clown house, hillbilly haven, haunted maze, werewolves den, witches hollow and more. $6 extra to shoot people with paintball guns.


Twisted Crypt
5420 E. State St., Rockford, IL

Cost: $20 general admission

Open: Friday, Saturday, and select Sundays from October 15 – November 2

Hours: Hours vary (check calendar)

Twisted Crypt is 10,000 square feet of indoor chaos including sights, sounds, smells, and creatures lurking around every corner. This is recommend for 13 and up, kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
