Summer is the perfect time to have an adventure and there are so many adventures to be had in the greater Rockford area! The Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has made it easy and fun to plan your next outing. Plus when you go on a local adventure and check in to select destinations, you can earn points to redeem for some cool prizes!
The Rockford Adventure Trail is the third digital passport program offered in the area, the others are the Rockford Art Trail and the Rockford Pizza Hop. You can find all of the current passports on the GoRockford website here.
The brand new Adventure Trail launched this summer to help locals and visitors get out and explore some of the great attractions that Rockford has to offer! There are over 30 sites both indoors and outdoors to visit. The majority of the locations are family-friendly!
Locations on the Adventure Trail include historical landmarks and museums, nature spots like parks and preserves, family fun spots, and a few 21 and up spots for adults to enjoy a night out. Some popular attractions included on the trail are Midway Village Museum, Anderson Japanese Gardens, Rock Cut State Park, Discovery Center Museum, Rivets Stadium, and DC Estate Winery. Check out a list of places included on the trail here. Though it is free to download the Adventure Trail passport, some of the locations listed do have admission costs. Be sure to check your passport because several places have discounted admission!
When you check in to locations on the Adventure Trail, you earn points that you can redeem for Rockford-themed prizes including stickers, water bottles, and belt bags! Each check-in is worth 100 points and prizes range from 100 to 1,500 points. You have until May 2025 to get out and earn points to put towards prizes!
This program is completely free to participate in. You simply need a phone with GPS to access the digital passport and check-in at area locations.
How to get started
- Sign up for the digital passport here. Once you submit your email, a passport will be sent to your phone via text and email.
- Click the link to open your digital passport.
- Head to one of the locations on the list and check in and earn points.
- Redeem your points for a prize!
