If you’re in need of free backpacks or school supplies for your kids this year, several Stateline businesses and organizations can help! We’ve put together a list of places offering backpack and school supply giveaways so your kids can start the school year off with everything they need.

4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
McDonald’s (1441 Kishwaukee St., Rockford, IL)
Bear Family McDonald’s will be giving one backpack with supplies inside and a free Happy Meal coupon per student while supplies last. The student must be present. Limited quantity available.
Monday, August 22nd

McDonald’s (930 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL)
Bear Family McDonald’s will be giving one backpack with supplies inside and a free Happy Meal coupon per student while supplies last. The student must be present. Limited quantity available.
Saturday, August 27th
12 pm – 3 pm
Empowering Word Christian Center (4010 E. State St., Rockford, IL)
Laptop computers and chromebooks, 50 tablets, 50 gift cards worth $50 to Footlocker, the first 1,000 kids in attendance will receive free meals to Jolly Wow’s BBQ food truck. There will also be 500 Chick-fil-a gift cards, free haircuts, and styles, bounce house and more.
There will be drawings for the laptops, chromebooks, etc. Must be present to win.
Saturday, August 27th

New Fellowship Baptist Church (831 N. Church St., Rockford, IL)
There will be food, school supplies, face painting, raffles, and more. There will also be items that can be loaned out from Rockford Public Library’s mobile library to library cardholders.
Sunday, August 28th
12 pm – 3 pm
Auburn High School (5110 Auburn St., Rockford, IL)
Fred VanVleet’s organization will be handing out backpacks filled with supplies to the first 500 students. This is open to all families in Rockford.
Monday, August 29th
10 am – 5 pm
Kingdom Cutz Barbershop (2448 S. Alpine Rd., Rockford, IL)
Kids can get their hair cut and pick up free school supplies while supplies last.
