August 15th is 815 Day in Rockford (get it!?) It’s a great day to explore the city with your family and enjoy events, specials, and deals from local businesses.
There are lots of things happening for families during Rockford Day. Kids can enjoy a discounted admission to the Discovery Center, get some treats from local bakeries, color a logo and more! Last year, my kids and I enjoyed 815 Day even though we got rained on a little bit!
Here’s what happening in Rockford during 815 Day this year!
Rockford Day Events
8:15 am: The day kicks off at Culture Shock (2239 Charles St, Rockford, IL) at 8:15 am with live music, treats from Banana Cherry Bakery, and a press conference from the mayor.
7:00 am – 3:00 pm: Hot bag sale at Mrs. Fisher’s Potato Chips (1231 Fulton Ave., Rockford, IL). $3 per 1 lb. bag, no limit!
8:15 am – 8:15 pm: Go on an #815MiracleMile selfie tour! Take pictures in front of stores on the Miracle Mile and post them on Facebook using #815MiracleMile. Here’s a list of the stops.
9:00 am – 12:00 pm: IceHogs are selling discounted single-game tickets for the 2019-2020 season and the home opener on October 12th. Tickets will be $8.15! Stop by Oink Outfitters for select merchandise at $8.15. Buy tickets online here.
10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Swedish fika and Skype call from Sweden at the Nordic Cultural Center (327 S 3rd St, Rockford, IL)
10:00 am – 6:00 pm: Free admission at Rockford Art Museum (711 N. Main St., Rockford, IL), a free I-Spy gallery activity and an 8.15% discount on all store merchandise.
2:00 pm: Nothing Bundt Cakes (881 S Perryville Rd Suite 200, Rockford, IL) will host a Rockford Police Department K9 Unit Demonstration.

Take a photo demonstrating pride in Rockford in the most creative way possible. Submit your photo here by August 9th. A panel of judges will announce the winner who will win a basket full of Rockford goodies at the kickoff event at Culture Shock.
