We’re lucky to have several great berry picking farms in the Stateline area offering a bunch of different fruit options. Throughout the spring, summer and early fall different items become ready to pick.

Here’s a growing schedule for the greater Rockford area.

Early summer: Strawberries

Mid-late summer: Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and peaches

Late summer: Tomatoes, corn, vegetables

Curran’s Orchard

At Curran’s Orchard in Rockford, you can pick cherries (June – July) and raspberries in the late summer and early fall.

7061 Centerville Rd. Poplar Grove, IL

At Edward’s Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove, you can pick raspberries beginning in late August until it frosts.

Skelly’s Farm Market
2713 S. Hayner Rd., Janesville, WI

If you’re up for a short drive, check out Skelly’s in Janesville. You can pick strawberries and buy delicious strawberry pies, jam and donuts.

Picking season starts Friday, June 14, 2019. Open 7 am – 5 pm during picking season.

Valley Orchard
811 E. State St. Cherry Valley, IL

At Valley Orchard in Cherry Valley, you can pick raspberries in the summer and fall, strawberries, blueberries, currants and blackberries.

Granny’s Berries

Granny’s Berries in Rochelle, you can pick raspberries and blueberries in the summer and fall.

Susie’s Garden Patch in Garden Prairie, you can pick strawberries and tomatoes.
