Puri Crest Playground is a small playground located in beautiful Rock Cut State Park that overlooks a large field and wooded area with trails.

What makes it special or worth visiting?
Rock Cut State Park is a huge 3,100 acre park with prairie land, forest, two lakes, campsites, and two playgrounds. Puri Crest Playground in Rock Cut State Park is a nice spot to play for a bit while visiting the park. The playground has a two-story play structure with two slides, a twisted fireman pole, pull-up bar, and one swing. The playground is surrounded by a field and trees and has a pavilion with numerous picnic tables.
If you go, you may want to bring:
- Bug spray – There can be mosquitos and ticks
- Sunscreen – Some parts of the play structure get direct sunlight
- A packed lunch or stuff to grill – There are lots of picnic tables and several charcoal grills (bring your own supplies)
Please note: Puri Crest Playground has a broken slide that is closed as of September 10, 2018. There are also loose rubber mat pieces on the playground.
There is another playground in Rock Cut in the Red Oak picnic area. That playground is closed and the equipment is in bad condition. There are several sharp pieces of metal sticking out, broken chains and swings, and a cracked slide and platform. I have emailed the Illinois Department of Natural Resources about the situation.
