Bring your bathing suits, towels and toys to play with in the sand! The River District is giving you one more trip to the beach before school starts… and you don’t even have to leave downtown Rockford! We have a carpenter making sandboxes just the like the one pictured here, and we’re filling them with sand over by the water fountain near City Market Pavilion. Kid acts will headline the entertainment under the pavilion. We have supersized versions of their favorite games to play. Different after school programs will be there at our expo to help families find fun stuff to do throughout the school year with the kiddos. And get this… it’s all free! So join us from 12 – 5 pm this Saturday, August 11 for the final installment of the 2018 summer Shop the Blocks series! Grab lunch and go shopping downtown while you’re down there and help support our local businesses.
