Kids ages 3-16 can enjoy trying their hand at fishing in a safe and controlled environment. The Hooked on Fun Kids Fishing Derby is an annual event held by the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County at Four Lakes Forest Preserve in Pecatonica. The Four Lakes Preserve provides several shallow, small lakes which are easily accessible for families to fish.

The event runs from 9 am – 12 pm and is completely free to attend.

Participants will get a free t-shirt, participant prizes, and a chance to win a big fish trophy.

Bring your own poles, bait is provided. There will also be a limited amount of loaner poles available. There will also be a live aquarium display.
