Winter Farmer Markets are happening in the Stateline! These Farmers markets are held indoors so you can shop for local goods without worrying about the weather. Here’s a list of the Winter Farmers Markets in the Stateline.
If you want to take the kids skiing, you’ll need to travel a little bit outside of the Stateline to do so! There are several ski resorts and ski hills less than two hours from Rockford, Illinois that you can visit this winter. Many of these resorts have skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing available. It’s best to make a reservation before going. The resorts are listed in order of distance from Rockford, Illinois.
Winter is here and there’s snow on the ground! It’s time to head out to one of the Stateline’s best sledding hills before it all melts. The Rockford area has several options for places to take your family sledding. Take a look at our list then pack up the kids, grab your sleds, snowboards, and tubes, and have fun!
The Snow Park at Alpine Hills is a five-acre park divided into two sections for family fun – a terrain park, and a tubing hill. There’s a surface lift (magic carpet) that takes riders from the bottom of the tubing hill and snowboard course so you spend more time going down the hill than you do walking back up!
Did you know that there are several places to go ice skating outdoors in the Rockford area? Ice skating outside allows you and your kids to enjoy the fresh air and burn off some energy after being cooped up indoors. One of the best parts of being in Rockford for the holiday season is the Stroll on State festival. This year they are celebrating their 11th year of bringing holiday cheer to the Stateline!
The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming, and Stateline Kids Spring Bingo is here! As always, our Bingo card has a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that you can do in the Stateline. Most of the activities on our Bingo card are free or low-cost.
It’s not officially Spring in the Stateline until the butterflies come back! One of our favorite things to do every Spring is visit the Butterfly Exhibit at Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens in Rockford.
