
Gather ’round, it’s time to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year! There are lots of fun Halloween events, both scary and not, happening in the Rockford region this season. From haunted trail walks to fairytale hayrides, and everything in between, you’re sure to find something fun and festive to do with your family this year. Here’s a list of the upcoming Halloween events in the Stateline.

Eerie Autumn Lights at Klehm Arboretum

Cost: $12 per adult / $6 per kid / online tickets only!

Enchanted Forest at Palmer Park

When: Wednesday, October 9 – Thursday, October 10 from 5:30 pm – 8 pm
Friday, October 11 – Saturday, October 12 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost: $3 per person
Take a non-scary walk through seven constructed scenes from fairytales with characters passing out items. There are also games you can play for $1 for 5 tickets.
Hollywood Hayride at Palmer Park

Cost: $3 per person
A star-studded adventure with six scenes from popular movies and TV shows. Actors will come to life when you ride by. There are also games you can play for $1 for 5 tickets.
Halloween Rocks at the Guilford Country Club Estates Neighborhood
Off Mulford Road in Rockford, Illinois
When: Saturday, October 12 from 9 am until rocks are all found

Witches’ Ball at The Pumpkin Patch

Cost: $8 per person, ages 2 and under are free
Dance the night away in a Halloween costume and take a hayride, visit the petting zoo, do crafts, visit a haunted shed, and more.
Pumpkin Walk at Eagles Ridge Park

Cost: Free
Take a walk through Eagles Ridge Park to see LED-lit Jack O’ Lanterns and listen to a story from Beloit Public Library.
Spooky Science at Discovery Center Museum
711 N. Main, Rockford, IL
When: Friday, October 18 from 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Cost: $9 per person, $3 to members, free for children ages 1 and younger
Come in costume to have some Halloween science fun. There will be slime, make and take projects, science activities, and more. Get tickets here.
Milton Community Days at Goodrich Park

4th Annual Pumpkin Pop Up at Rock Valley Credit Union

Families can pick a pumpkin to take home, play games, and get some Halloween candy.
Truck or Treat at Porter Park

Enjoy a day of food trucks, touch a truck with public works vehicles, and candy.
Forest of Freaks Trick or Treat
5946 S. US-51, Janesville, WI
When: Saturday, October 19 from 3 pm – 5:30 pm
Cost: $6 per kid
Kids can come in costume and get candy, enjoy bounce houses, carnival games, and much more. There are 25 stops on the candy walk. There are no scary actors at this event.
Halloween on the Prairie at Byron Forest Preserve

Cost: Free
Families can enjoy games, hayrides, crafts, Raptor Rehab owl and hawk demonstrations, a bounce house and more. There will be free hot dogs, chips, and bottled water.
Track or Treat at Stateline Family YMCA Ironworks Branch
500 Pleasant St., Beloit, WI
When: Sunday, October 20 from 1 pm – 2 pm (15 minute timeslots)
Cost: Free
Kids ages newborn through 12 years old can get dressed up and Track or Treat around the track. There will also be crafts, music, pumpkin decorating and more. Register here.
Downtown Business Trick or Treat at Downtown Belvidere
404 E. State St., Belvidere, IL
When: Wednesday, October 23 from 4 pm – 7 pm
Cost: Free
Trick or treat from downtown businesses in Belvidere. There are typically 100 stores giving out candy.
Festival of Frights at Sinnissippi Park
1401 N. 2nd St., Rockford, IL
When: October 25 – 31 from dusk until 9 pm
Cost: Free, donations appreciated
Drive through Sinnissippi Park to see Halloween displays. This event raises money for children who are in need of Halloween costumes. There is also a Haunted Hills Hustle fun run on Saturday, October 26th from 5 – 5:30 pm for $35 per person. Register here.
Halloween Batty Bash at NorthPointe Wellness

Cost: $8 per person / kids 3 and under are free
Come in costume and enjoy an outdoor Halloween event for families. There will be bounce houses, a Halloween path, games, snacks and refreshments. Register here.
Downtown Beloit Halloween Costume Parade and Party
Horace White Park (College St. and Grand Ave.) Beloit, WI

Cost: Free
Everyone is invited to bring their little ghouls and goblins to show off their costumes in the parade and then trick-or-treat at downtown businesses and the Farmers’ Market vendors. The fun includes live music, entertainment, and activities for all ghouls and goblins! This is also the last Farmer’s Market of the season, so while the younger kids trick-or-treat, the big kids can shop from nearly 130 vendors! Just look for the orange flags.
Trick or Treat Downtown Janesville
Town Square, Janesville, WI

Cost: Free
Take the trolley around downtown and trick or treat at various businesses with orange and black balloons outside the door. There is also trick or treating in the Farmers Market in Town Square.
Free Print Day at Rockford Art Deli

Cost: Free print, shirts are extra
Come get a shirt printed with a Beetlejuice. Bring your own shirt to get the print for free or buy a shirt when you’re there.
All Hallows’ Eve at Midway Village Museum

Cost: $7 per kid ages 3-17 / $5 per person / kids 2 and under are free
Trick or treat through the historic village and do family-friendly activities. Get tickets in advance or buy them at the gate.
Spook-tacular Haunts at Anderson Japanese Gardens
