
There’s nothing as fun as a fall hayride or wagon ride! You can relax and check out the beautiful scenery or brace yourself for some jump scares (if it’s a Halloween ride!) Here’s a list of where you can take a hayride or wagon ride in the Stateline this season.
Please note: Most hayrides and wagon rides are only running on the weekends.
Non-scary Hayrides and Wagon Rides
Lockwood Park
5201 Safford Rd., Rockford, IL
When: Saturdays until September 28 from 10 am – 4 pm and October 19 and 20 from 10 am – 5 pm
Cost: $4 per person
Families can enjoy a wagon ride, pony experience, and visit to the Sarver Children’s Barn while at Lockwood Park. Wagon rides are 20 minutes long. Rides depart every half-hour (no rides from 1 pm – 1:30 pm).
Farmer Jack’s Choose Your Own Farm Adventure Wagon Ride at Skelly’s Farm
2713 South Hayner Rd., Janesville, WI
When: Weekends only from 10 am – 5:30 pm mid-September through Halloween
Cost: $6.50 per person, 3 and under are free
You can take an adventure wagon ride that follows the story of Farmer Jack as he follows clues and changes his story based on your votes. Wagon rides are 20 minutes and appropriate for all ages.
Enchanted Forest and Hollywood Hayride at Palmer Park
2501 Palmer Dr., Janesville, WI
When: Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10 from 5:30 pm – 8 pm
Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost: $3 per person for the hayride
$3 per person for the forest walk
$1 for 5 tickets for goblin games
This event is CASH ONLY!
Enjoy an evening of Halloween fun at Palmer Park with either a non-scary guided walk with scenes from fairytales and nursery rhymes or a star-studded hayride with six scenes from popular movies. There will also be tickets for purchase to play simple carnival games and free barrel rides from the Optimist Club.
Tractor Ride at Lindberg Pumpkin Patch
3178 Route 173, Caledonia, IL
When: September 12- October 31 from 9 am – 6 pm daily
Cost: Included in general admission costs
Spend a day at the Lindberg Pumpkin Patch where you can enjoy a tractor ride for the whole family. Tractor rides are only available on the weekends.
Haunted Hayrides and Wagon Rides
Fear Fest 2024

When: October 4 – 6, 11 – 13, 18 – 20, 25 – 27 and November 1 – 3
Friday and Saturday from 7 pm – 11 pm
Sundays from 7 pm – 10 pm
Cost: $15 per person
$40 for the triple pass (haunted barn, hayride, and carnival)
Fear Fest has a haunted barn, haunted hayride, and creepy carnival. All of these activities are scary so use your own discretion when bringing children.
