August 15th is 815 Day in Rockford (get it!?) It’s a great day to explore the city with your family and enjoy events, specials, and deals from local businesses.

There are lots of things happening for families during Rockford Day. Kids can enjoy a discounted admission to the Discovery Center, get some treats from local bakeries, color a logo and more! Last year, my kids and I enjoyed 815 Day even though we got rained on a little bit!

Rockford Day Events

The day kicks off at Culture Shock (2239 Charles St, Rockford, IL) at 8:15 am with $8.15 t-shirts for sale.

Snoop Dogg performing at Rockford Rivets Stadium at 7 pm. Tickets start at $49 each and go on sale on July 12th. Get tickets here

Ways to Celebrate Rockford Day

There are several fun ways you can celebrate Rockford Day with your kids!

Get your kids to color a Rockford Day logo

Take a photo demonstrating pride in Rockford in the most creative way possible. Submit your photo here by August 9th. A panel of judges will announce the winner who will win a basket full of Rockford goodies at the kickoff event at Culture Shock.

Share your Rockford favorites on social media. Take selfies in your favorite locations or with your favorite Rockford people and post them using the tags #RockfordDay and #815Favorite_______. Leading up to Rockford Day, random posts will be chosen for prizes.

Share your story about Rockford’s comeback. Talk about what makes your business or experience special, your educational success, or your favorite memories. Share the story with the hashtag #RockfordDay or post it to the Rockford Day Facebook page. Stories posted by August 1st will be featured on the Facebook page.
