We are so grateful for the service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you to all who have served and are currently serving. If you’d like to celebrate Memorial Day by going to a parade, here’s a list of the ones happening in the Stateline Area for Memorial Day 2019.

Beloit / South Beloit

When: Monday, May 27 from 9 am – 12 pm

The South Beloit/Beloit parade begins in South Beloit at 9 am on Blackhawk Blvd. then goes to State St. then East Grand Ave. and ends near Horace White Park in Beloit. There will be several high school bands performing as well as Rise Up Marching Phoenixes, a 40 person drum and bugle corps.

After the parade, there will be multiple ceremonies, one at 11 am at the American Legion Hall on Dorr Rd., another at 11:30 am at the Floral Lawn Cemetery, and a third at 12 pm at the East Lawn Cemetery.


When: Monday, May 27 from 9 am – 12 pm

The Belvidere parade begins across from City Hall then goes to Whitney, then Meadow, then State St. to the bridge where the ceremony will take place.

Loves Park

When: Saturday, May 25 at 9 am

Though there will be no Young at Heart festival this year, there will be a parade and fireworks show in Loves Park. The parade starts at 9 am at Woodward and heads north on Second St. and then ends at Theodore St.

There will also be a firework show at dusk south of Sand Park Pool.


When: Monday, May 27 at 2 pm

The Pecatonica parade will start at 2 pm.


When: Monday, May 27 from 9 am – 12 pm

The Rockford parade will start at 7th Ave. and 6th Ave.and head north to Charles St. then Charles St. to State St. then State to Wyman then Beattie Park where the parade will end.

Once the parade ends at 10:30 am, there will be a Memorial Day program including comments from the mayor and a dove release. There will also be an annual riverside Sinking of the Ship ceremony including a 21 gun salute.

After the parade, stop by the 317 Art Collective’s Block Party from 12 pm on. There will be art, block printing with Sarah (bring a shirt, bandana or other items you want to print on), skateboards, Double Dutch, roller skates, movies, bubbles, food, face painting and more. This event is FREE!


When: Monday, May 27 at 9 am

The Rockton parade will begin at 9 am on Blackhawk Blvd. on the south side of the bridge over the Rockton River and head north to the cemetery. There will a short ceremony afterward.


When: Monday, May 27 at 11 am

The Roscoe parade begins at 11 am at the corner of Main and Bridge St and then goes to Broad St. and heads east to the Roscoe Township Cemetery. There will be a wreath ceremony after the parade.
