Roland Olson Forest Preserve is a beautiful natural park with a small, clean playground with newer equipment. The playground has several climbing features including a mountain-shaped entrance. There’s also a Hurricane spinner and a swing set. This is a great place to play for a while before or after taking a hike through the preserve. There are numerous trails throughout the park including one right behind the nearby bathroom.
If you go, you may want to bring:
- A packed lunch – There’s a picnic table where you can eat
- Hats and sunscreen – The entire playground is in full sun
- Walking shoes and bug spray – You can hike through the forest preserve after you play
