Tracking 101: Teens & Tweens
January 18, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
$15Discover how to identify animal tracks, learn how animals move, interpret the mysteries of the forest, and try your skills at following an animal trail with this engaging, interactive workshop especially for teenagers. We start indoors with Nature Educator Ellen Rathbone teaching us the scientist’s way of studying tracks and tracking. Topics include the track formula, gait patterns and movement, track measurements, and even scat ID and other wildlife signs (like browse, dens, kill sites). Hopefully we will have snow and we will take to the woods to work on track/trail ID in the field. Bring water and a snack. Dress for indoors and bring outdoor gear. Ages: 11-17 years.
Cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Please register by January 13.
