DESCRIPTION:Rockford Illinois Police Officers Association PB&PA Unit 6 will help hundreds of local families gear up for the new school year! On Wednesday\, August 14\, kids enrolled in kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to pick up free backpacks. The first giveaway will be held at Living Faith Tabernacle Annex (1124 4th Avenue) from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.\, and the second will go from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rockford Police District 1 (1045 West State Street). \nIn total\, about 350 backpacks will be handed out. Each backpack is stuffed with supplies\, including a notebook\, folder\, pencils\, glue sticks and pencil box. Children must be present at the time to receive backpacks.
