Summer is just around the corner and Stateline Kids has put together everything you need to know about summer camps in Winnebago, Boone, and Rock counties! In this guide, you’ll find local camp information and deals to help you decide where your kid should go to camp this summer!

This guide has full day, week-long, multi-day and one-time classes, camps, and events. These camps are held throughout Rockford, Beloit, Belvidere, Machesney Park, Rockton, Roscoe, and more. Gymnastics Academy of Rockford Summer Adventure Camp

The Gymnastic Academy of Rockford is proud to announce their 21st year of Summer Adventure Camp in their expansive, air-conditioned gyms. They offer a unique opportunity for kids to develop their abilities while teaching them life skills that will enhance self-confidence. At GAR’s Adventure Camp, friendship, fun and learning are combined to create lasting memories. Each week is packed with swimming, recreational gymnastics, tumbling and trampoline classes, GAR South Trampoline Park, GAR’s XRKade, crafts, pizza parties, open gym time and much more! Kids can come for the day, week, or entire summer.

Kids and K9 Camp at Meyer’s Tails Up Farm (Belvidere)

Kids can learn basic commands, study different dog breeds, watch dock diving demonstrations, hear presentations by animal experts, and create artwork. They will receive an official camp t-shirt, a 4 ft. handmade leather leash, group photo and daily snacks. Dogs will be provided by Meyer’s.

Beloit Art Center Art Camp

Art Camp is a time of artistic exploration and experimentation for students ages ranging from 9-16. In the morning we will meet for two hours and work in two-dimensional media. The basics of drawing, painting, and design will be covered. After a short lunch break, students will head downstairs to the Pottery studio to work, for two hours, in the three-dimensional medium of clay. All supplies are included. Students will provide their own lunch. A refrigerator is available.

Discovery Center Summer Camps

Sparking curiosity and engaging naturally scientific minds. That’s what Discovery Center Summer Camps are all about! Camps for ages 7-12 will explore medieval history and mythology through STEM; create dinosaur safe havens, hone skills to become an inventor; build an outpost on the moon and much more. Tot Spot Mini-Camps encourage learning-based play and group interactions. Preschoolers will explore life under the sea; pack their make-believe jeeps and head off on safari; investigate water in its solid, liquid and gas states; and hone their scientific process skills as they engage in experiments.

Summer Camp at Severson Dells in Rockford

Summer Camp at Severson Dells is all about mud and imagination. The camp’s goal is to help your child build memories of having the best possible time outdoors. Younger campers get muddy, catch crayfish, search for Humphrey the Camouflaged Dragon…and they may even learn some science along the way. Older campers also have adventures, such as paddling the region’s rivers or making batteries out of mud. Children who love nature become adults who care for nature. BCCD Summer Camps at Boone County Conservation District

Campers will explore the wonders of nature, go on hikes, listen to stories, sing songs, and do crafts. Camp Ducktails focus on getting the youngest explorers into nature. Camp Redwing includes field trips, swimming, fishing, arts and crafts. Camp Redtail is an adventure-based four-day camping trip that introduces minimum impact camping and outdoor nature skills.

The School of West Rock

Introduce your kids to the experience of wakeboarding at The School of West Rock! There are two levels of classes that run five days each. Class 101 is perfect if your child has never ridden or is working on their next steps of progression. Class 202 is perfect for riders looking to progress a ton in a week’s time. This class is reserved for riders who have passed 101 or are regular riders at West Rock.
