It can get mighty cold in the Stateline area during the winter and kids need a place to get their energy out when it’s too cold to play outside! Thankfully, there are several indoor play places in the greater Rockford area where you can take your kids to burn off some energy and quite a few fast food restaurants where kids can have lunch and play. We’ve put together a list of all of the indoor play places and restaurant play areas in the Stateline.

Indoor Play Places

CherryVale Mall Play Area in CherryVale Mall on the Lower Level
7200 Harrison Ave, Rockford, IL

Hours: Monday – Saturday from 10 am – 8 pm
Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm

Cost: FREE

The CherryVale Mall play area is geared towards kids ages 5 and under. It’s a great place for toddlers to play because the entire area is enclosed and the equipment is all padded and soft. The play area was revamped in December 2022 with new equipment and flooring.

Toddler Play Area in Belvidere Oasis

Cost: FREE

The Toddler Play Area in the Belvidere Oasis is geared towards kids ages 5 and under. There are a few soft play toys that kids can climb on within a confirmed area.

My Play Village is a miniature village for kids to explore and use imaginative play. There are structures including a fire station, beauty salon, house, grocery store, and more. Lakeland Park is located inside Lakeland Church in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The play area is 5,000 square feet of fun! There is a large indoor playscape, sensory and interactive play areas, and a basketball zone. There are no reservations for Lakeland Park and it’s a first come – first serve play area that may reach capacity on busy days.

Kidtopia is an indoor play area for toddlers and early elementary age kids. The space includes a baby are with foam play mats, imaginative play areas including a grocery store and sheriff office, and indoor swingset and climbing equipment.

Coral Cove Family Fun Center is a place to play for kids of all ages. They have two sections – an arcade with numerous games and a bounce house area. Many of the games dispense tickets that can be turned in for prizes. The bounce house area, which requires a wristband, has several bounce houses that kids can play on. They also offer regular Parents Night Out events and other special events. Check their Facebook page for more information.

Sapora Playworld offers two main play areas for kids ages 12 and under. The first is the toddler area for kids 3 and under and the second is a larger play area for older kids and includes a large tube structure, obstacle course items, and slides.

Discovery Center Museum

Discovery Center Museum is the ultimate place to play indoors for kids. There are more than 300 hands-on exhibits for kids to explore. The Discovery Center Museum also offers events throughout the year. More information on everything the Discovery Center has to offer.
