
We are so grateful for the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. If you’d like to celebrate Memorial Day by going to a parade or ceremony honoring our veterans, here’s a list of the ones happening in the Stateline Area for Memorial Day 2024.
Rockford
When: Monday, May 27 from 9 am – 12 pm
The Rockford parade will start at 7th Ave. and 6th Ave. and head north to Charles St. then Charles St. to State St. then State to Wyman then Beattie Park where the parade will end.
Once the parade ends at 10 am, there will be a Memorial Day program and rose ceremony. There will also be an annual riverside Sinking of the Ship ceremony including a 21 gun salute behind the Luther Center at 113 N Wyman St.
Rockton
When: Monday, May 27 at 9 am
The Rockton parade will kick off at 9 am on Blackhawk Boulevard then head towards Rockton Township cemetery where there will be a short ceremony.
Beloit & South Beloit
When: Monday, May 27 from 9 am – 11:30 am
The parade begins in South Beloit on Blackhawk Blvd and head to State Street in Beloit and tour downtown before ending at Horace White Park at 825 E. Grand Avenue.
Woodstock
When: Monday, May 27 at 10 am
The day starts with a ceremony in Woodstock Square followed by a parade. The parade begins on Dean Street and ends on Judd. Stroll the Square before or after the event to see military uniforms and mementos from local families.
Roscoe
When: Monday, May 27 at 10 am
The Roscoe parade will take place on parts of Main and Broad Street, north of Village Hall. Spectators can line up north of Presley Place. A ceremony will be held at Roscoe Cemetery at 5550 Harrison Street.
Belvidere
When: Monday, May 27 at 10 am
The Belvidere parade will step off from City Hall parking lot on Main Street and go to Big Thunder Park where a ceremony will be held.
Pecatonica
When: Monday, May 27 at 2 pm
The Pecatonica parade will start at 2 pm. It is the second-largest Memorial Day parade in Illinois. The parade runs through downtown Pecatonica and lasts around 90 minutes. The parade will start at 7th and Main Street and travel through downtown Pecatonica.
Janesville
When: Monday, May 27 from 11 am – 1 pm
Janesville Patriotric Society has a parade of high school bands, veterans unit, and members of the National Guard. The route runs down West Milwaukee Street, north on Main Street, stops at the Doughboy statute and on the Rock River bridge to place wreaths. The parade ends at Veterans Plaza in Traxler Park with a ceremony.
