Thanksgiving Meal Assistance for Families in Need in the Stateline
If you need a meal for Thanksgiving, there are several places where you can receive one.
Rockford: A free Thanksgiving meal will be served on Wednesday, November 22nd at 12 pm at Rockford Rescue Mission at 715 W. State Street in Rockford.
Beloit: A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served on Tuesday, November 21st at 11 am and 12 pm at The Salvation Army at 628 Broad St in Beloit.
Janesville: A free Thanksgiving dinner will be served on Wednesday, November 22nd from at 11 am and 12 pm at The Salvation Army at 514 Sutherland Ave in Janesville.
Christmas Present / Holiday Gift Assistance for Families in Need in the Stateline
If money is tight this year and you need help with Christmas presents for your kids, there are several resources available in Illinois and Wisconsin.
No matter where you live in Illinois or Wisconsin, you can participate in an Angel Tree through the Salvation Army. You can submit your children’s names for the Angel Tree so that others in the community can buy presents for them. Sign up to be on an Angel Tree and get Christmas presents for your child here.
For those in Northern Illinois, there are also Toys for Tots available for several regions in the area.
Residents of Winnebago, Boone, and Stephenson county can sign up for Toys for Tots here. Sign up ends on December 8, 2023.
Residents of Ogle County can sign up for Toys for Tots here. Sign-up ends on December 2, 2023.
Byron residents can contact the Byron Police Department to add their kid (up to age 14) to the Operation Santa list to receive a Christmas gift. Call 815-234-5000 to register your kids before November 15, 2023.
For Wisconsin residents, there are a few additional options.
Low-income residents of Janesville, Wisconsin can sign up to receive gifts from ECHO for kids ages infant through 18. Call the office at 754-5333 for sign-up dates. They require a photo ID, utility bill, and proof of household income.
For residents of the entire United States
Nationally, your child can send a stamped letter in the mail to this address for a chance to have their gift purchased by a Santa volunteer.
