In the Stateline area, we want to make sure ALL kids can enjoy Trick or Treating on Halloween. Sometimes, allergies or other issues can prevent children from being able to collect candy. That’s where the Teal Pumpkin Project comes in!
The Teal Pumpkin Project is a movement to raise awareness of food allergies and promote inclusion for all kids Trick or Treating on Halloween. This project offers options for kids with food allergies or those who cannot have candy.
If you’d like to participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project, here’s what you can do:
- Provide non-food treats for Trick or Treaters on Halloween
- Place a teal pumpkin on your porch, and print out one of these signs to put on your door, to show you have non-food treats available. You can paint a pumpkin or find plastic ones at Target, Michaels, and other retailers.
- Add your home to the Teal Pumpkin Project map.
- Tell others about it! Share on social media that you’re participating and why it’s important.
Ideas for non-food items:
- Bubbles
- Slime
- Rubber bracelets
- Stickers
- Stamps
- Small toys
- Crayons
- Coloring books
