Wentland Playground (Project Playworks) is now closed for renovation. The park will be getting new play equipment and a splash pad in 2024.

What makes it special or worth visiting?

Wentland Playground is a massive maze-like playground with many towers, stairs, hiding spots, and bridges. The playground is old-fashioned and most of the structure is made of wood and plastic. There is a small area for toddlers with a sand pit and wooden fire truck for imaginative play. There’s a long walking path that circles that complex and goes all the way to Harlem High School.

If you go, you may want to bring:

  • A packed lunch – There are several picnic table where you can eat
  • Scooters, bikes, and ride-ons – There’s a walking path circling the park
  • Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades – There’s a skate park with ramps in the complex
  • Baseball bat, gloves, ball – There are numerous baseball diamonds in the complex
