Looking for something fun to do with your kids for New Year’s Eve in the Rockford area? This year the options are a bit more limited, but there are still virtual events happening in the Stateline area.

These events happen during the day so your kids can celebrate the New Year without having to stay up until midnight and be cranky all day!

All of these events are happening on Thursday, December 31st.

Noon Year’s Eve Party

Where: Your House
Hosted by Ida Public Library

When: 11 am – 12 pm

Cost: Free

Details: Ring in 2021 and celebrate with a virtual Noon-Years Eve party on Zoom! Register to receive the join link and stop by the library before the event to pick up your party pack with supplies to use at our celebration.

Happy Noon Year Virtual Program

Where: Your House
Hosted by Discovery Center Museum

When: 11:30 am – 12 pm

Cost: Free

Details: This year, museums in Illinois and Indiana are teaming up to host a LIVE virtual dance party and countdown to Noon! Watch the free LIVE stream for a hopping, bopping farewell to 2020 beginning at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 31 and end with a celebration at noon! Tune in as “The Awesome Squad” plays your favorite kids’ music hits. We’ll check in with other museums during the big celebration, and you have the option of purchasing a party kit to make the day more festive! Kits are $5/kit for the Public and $4 for Members. To order Noon Year’s Eve activity kits and arrange for curbside pick-up, visit the Discovery Center website or call 815-963-6769. Kits must be ordered by December 28. Pickup will be available December 22, 23, 29 and 30.
